The first Competitive Comedy event was incredible! The amazing Chris Radburn was in town and we had four very game contestants.
As a back story, I took a lot of time to explain all the details to the Mc and Sound engineer! The one thing that I kept repeating was once you ask the audience who wins it’s 100% upto to the Mc to be the judge of who wins!
SO, Ting Lim vs David Leary was the first match up and Ting won the audience over for a solid victory!
Then it was Sandeep Totlani vs Aaron Pratt and it was insane. Sandeep went first and crushed so hard that Chris the MC jokingly went and handed the $10 prize money to him before Aaron had even begun! Then Aaron MURDERED!!! It was the closest match to date and the MC asked who won and both were getting roaring applause breaks. He then asked me and I said “It’s 100% upto you and then some one in the audience yelled out 3 person final and that’s what the MC decided to do!
My simple head to head elimination tournament idea had a three person grand final on it’s first night! Incredible.
All three went and it was close between Aaron and Sandeep but Chris gave Sandeep the edge and he was crowned the first ever Competitive Comedy Champion!
