A New Chapter

Competitive Comedy was originally a way to prove who the best comedian was in each city! I ran one short season and it went incredibly well (Excluding the final) and then I made an agreement with one of the Best clubs in Australia and after months of planning came the Pandemic!

Very upsetting but I feel very fortunate because I think the mismatch of ideas I have now are far superior but we’re beginning with this and just seeing what happens?

Ps This could literally fall a part in a week I’m just playing around and seeing what happens!

November 15 was the 2018 Competitive Comedy Final and it was Sandeep Totlani’s night!.

Marcus Davies went first and BOMBED! He forgot the punchline and said ‘Oh shit I forgot” LOL. Sandeep then did a chilled minute, made an easy $20 and went through to the final!.

Nick Carr didn’t get a lot of love from the audience which gave Aaron a chance to get through to the finals which he did!

The final turned out being Sandeep vs Aaron who competed and tied in the first ever competitive comedy event! They both did really well but Sandeep got a few more laughs the audience crowned him the Competitive Comedy Champion for 2018! .

Sandeep not only won the final he satyed in the top 3 for the entire season so a HUGE congrats to Sandeep, he truly is a fantastic comedian!

Final Tally at the end of the year!

P.S A big shout out to Ting Lim who wasn’t able to compete in the final but was tied in first place before the final, her only loss was to Sandeep and she was the only one to beat him! Another truly great comic.

Competitive Comedy #5 Results

Competitive Comedy #5 was a super fun event with really close matches.

Nick Carr and Aaron Pratt went first and Nick’s drawings of dicks were a crowd pleaser and helped me win his round.

Marcus then went on to beat Boue in a super close match where the Mc needed to ask the audience a second time to confirm the winner.

In the final, Marcus went first and did really well but then Nick continued the bit from the first round which pleased the crowd and secured him his first victory.

Nick Carr is the Competitive Comedy #5 Champion!

Competitive Comedy #4 was the first event where one of the very best comedians in the city competed and it was evident. After a very solid first round from Boue Marks and Geoff Mindle the final would have been a coin flip for most of the audience members.

Boue went first and did well but then Geoff Mindle absolutely destroyed with easily the best minute in the history of Competitive Comedy to easily win CC#4.

Geoff Mindle is the Competitive Comedy #4 Champion!

Competitive Comedy #3 was the first time we tested a new venue and it was at Stones Corner Hotel! It quickly turned into a rematch between CC#1 finalists Sandeep Totalani vs Ting Lim after they defeated their first opponents. Sandeep went first and put in a solid effort even though he went over the 70 second time limit but tonight belonged to Ting Lim with a solid victory and some much wanted redemption for her first defeat!

Ting Lim is the Competitive Comedy #3 Champion!

The second competition was bonkers. We had three open micers and Marcus Thorpe who is arguably a step above the competition and he proved it by getting through both of his contestants.

This event was an important event because there were a lot of little stuff ups that were made crystal clear which in hindsight was very fortunate.

A great rainy night, hosted by the incredible Lindsay Webb and a super weird crowd made for a great night!

Marcus was the second Competitive Comedy Champion!!
